More available. Even more on the way.

The art.

We're curating 1,000 public-domain artworks from museum collections around the world. Discover a new painting each day, or let a favorite stay.

We also aim to partner with video game publishers and IP owners to bring you curated, officially licensed art from some of the greatest game franchises.

1,000-artwork target, subject to rights checks. Game-art partnerships are planned, not confirmed.

The app.

Choose what Peekpal shows and when it changes. Pick your frames, add your content, and set a schedule. The companion app takes care of the rest.

iOS & Android planned. Final features will be confirmed at launch.

The versatility.

One little frame, four ways to fit into your day.

Your new faceplate.
Your new photo frame.
Your new fridge magnet.
Your new art frame.

The battery life.

We're designing Peekpal for months between charges. The picture stays while Peekpal sleeps. Choose your refresh schedule in the app: fewer updates mean longer battery life.

Recharge via USB-C. No permanent power cord.

Battery life varies by use. Endurance tests ongoing.

The incantation.

Good spells take a moment. Peekpal takes roughly 30 seconds to fully display a new image, like a little wizard finishing an incantation before casting his spell.

Then the picture stays, quietly keeping you company until the next refresh.

The ambition.

Longer term, we want to give artists, from hobbyists to professionals, a new way to share and benefit from their work. Imagine displaying officially licensed concept art from your favorite games on your Peekpal.

We also want to give the community tools and SDK access to create and share frames. We’re exploring which parts of the project we can open-source, so you can take Peekpal beyond what we’re building.

These are future plans and may change.

A little pal. Coming soon.

We're preparing Peekpal for Kickstarter. Follow our journey from working prototype to your everyday life.

FAQ.

When can I order Peekpal?

We're preparing for Kickstarter, with a $79 USD early-bird offer available in limited quantity and a planned retail price of $149 USD. Shipping and applicable taxes are extra. Estimated delivery dates and shipping destinations will be announced with the campaign.

Do I need a Steam Machine?

No. Peekpal is designed to work as a Steam Machine faceplate or on its own, on your desk, fridge, or wall.

Can I display my own photos?

Yes. Your own photos are part of the Peekpal experience, alongside the library of dynamic frames. The companion app will manage content and schedules, with expandable microSD storage for your collection. Final features will be confirmed at launch.

How long does the battery last?

We're aiming for months between charges. Fewer updates mean longer battery life; connectivity and usage also affect runtime. The picture stays visible while Peekpal sleeps between updates. Endurance tests are ongoing.

Does it need Wi-Fi all the time?

The display keeps its picture without a connection. Fetching fresh online content needs Wi-Fi; details of offline photo playback and scheduling will be confirmed at launch.

Is there a subscription?

We'll confirm what's included and whether any optional content or services carry a fee before pledges open.

Can I play games or videos on it?

No. Peekpal displays still images and information on e-paper. It's a companion to your games, not a gaming monitor or video screen.

Is Peekpal already working?

Yes. Our connected prototype receives frames, updates the display, and sleeps between refreshes. We're refining the hardware, app, and services for production.

About us.

It’s really just me! I’m Pierre, the guy behind Peekpal, and a mechanical engineer based in Shenzhen, China.

By day, I help bring consumer electronics into mass production; by night, I’m an indie engineer building Peekpal, the e-paper device I’ve wanted since 2015.

I’m also a PC gamer, amateur photographer and digital art enthusiast. Peekpal is where hardware, gaming and art meet.

Longer term, I hope Peekpal can become a new medium for artists to share their work and bring it into everyday life.
